Many who have been to India, agree in one opinion about the local population – Indians are like children. Naive, kind, open, cheerful, noisy… that’s all about them. What are the things about Indians that amaze foreigners the most?

  1. India is only slightly behind China in the number of citizens living there. The population density is enormous! Indians are genetically accustomed to crowds and noise around them. They live in rooms of several people, dine in large groups and can’t be alone for half an hour. How does this affect us? Indians have no concept of privacy. They can touch you, look you in the eye, and move closer and closer to you. They take a keen interest in a “white” person. They do not want to hurt you, they just enjoy being as close to you as possible. Bathing, taking pictures, standing smoking, talking on the phone… at a minimum distance. Be patient.
  2. The concept of service has not yet reached India (only if you vacation in 5-star hotels). One of the reasons for poor service lies in the natural laziness and slowness. Indians, soaked in the hot sun, move slowly and do not think that you need to solve a problem in 1 minute. Prepare to have to wait 40-60-90 minutes for food in a restaurant. Checking into a hotel is sometimes time-consuming. Want to buy flip-flops quickly on your way to the beach? And talk!!! If in an emergency situation, seeing that the problem is not solved, you start yelling at the Indian, the process will not speed up. What happens when you yell at a child? He doesn’t understand why and starts crying even more. Indians do the same thing. Try to adopt their pace of life as early as possible, don’t get upset over nothing. Be patient.
  3. Extremely clean Indians leave garbage behind whenever and wherever they go. They themselves shower three times a day, wash their hands and face, and throw away bottles as soon as they finish drinking. It is useless to make remarks to them. You should behave as you are used to at home and throw trash in garbage cans. You can’t change the local population. And another little street nuance – around every corner, bush, tree you can find a pissing Indian. And they’re not hiding. Be patient.
  4. Indians are very positive and friendly. Don’t be afraid to approach them with requests of any kind. They will always tell you the way and even show you the way. You can make friends with the local population very quickly. Exchange a few words with the owner of your hotel and here you are already best friends. Such acquaintances can serve you well when you travel. The main thing is to distinguish for yourself what services are friendly and what you will have to pay a little for.
  5. The most important thing for Indians is family and children. If you are traveling with a child, he will always be the center of attention. You will be helped, fed, and photographed. Indian children are always bathed in love and care. Don’t be afraid to express your enthusiasm for the big-eyed babies – their parents will be pleased.
